What To Expect At Mountaineer Audiology
1. Testing
During a hearing test, you’ll be seated in a quiet room and asked to listen to a series of sounds and tones. The audiologist will adjust the volume to determine your hearing threshold. The test may involve using headphones or speakers. You may also be asked to repeat words or phrases. The entire process usually takes about 30 minutes.
2. Results Consultation
After the testing is complete, we will review and discuss your results and how it may affect your quality of life. If you are a candidate for hearing aids, we will review your lifestyle, and budget and give you various options. If you are not ready just yet, we are here for you when you are! We ask you to return in one year to monitor your hearing.
3. Hearing Aid Discussion
A hearing aid discussion typically involves reviewing your hearing test results, discussing your lifestyle and preferences, and exploring various hearing aid options. The audiologist will explain the different types of hearing aids, their features, and how they can benefit you. You’ll also have the opportunity to ask questions and try on different hearing aids to find the best fit.

Testimonials
“After moving to PA over a year ago, my husband refuses to find a new, local audiologist, so we make the 4 hour trip when necessary. This is clearly confirmation on how GREAT the staff is at Mountaineer Audiology. Tara & Jamie go above & beyond for their patients.”
“I have had Tara as an audiologist for several years and have no intention of changing to another audiologist anytime soon. Even after moving from Hampshire County to Jefferson County, WV over ten years ago, I still continue to go to Romney to see Tara for any issues relating to my hearing. She and Jamie have been wonderful.”
